THANK YOU for all of your input and comments!!! None are being ignored and ALL are being considered!!!!

NOTE: For those that choose to download my cut files in the svg format.....when you click on the "here" on my website it will ACTUALLY OPEN UP THE SVG file as I host my own files on my Website through my own server....so when you "think" it's opening a jpeg it's the ACTUAL SVG file itself....all you need to do is right click on the image and select "SAVE PAGE AS" if you're using Firefox.....I believe IE automatically gives you the prompt to save....I hope this helps those that are seeing what they think is the jpeg.......

It's been a Wonderful Weekend....

Sunday, November 8, 2009
I have had the BEST time playing with paper this weekend and feel like I have accomplished ALOT!!!!!  Isn't that an AWESOME feeling!!!!

BTW, My oldest son, Billy....gave the Altered Box with Journal to Brianna this evening and she flipped over it!!! She called and told me that is going to be "Her Secret Box"!!!  Made me smile!!!!  Her mama loved it too!!!  So it was a WONDERFUL feeling!!!!

Ok.....I had several swaps I wanted to get completed before the deadline......I was actually able to complete 4 of them...and thought I would share each of them with you...so this will probably end up being a long post......Are you ready??? Here we go!!!

This first piece is an ATC for a swap in my ARTHaven Creations & Friendships group...the theme is "Christmas Time"...to me snowflakes remind me of Christmas time......I used one of MY SNOWFLAKE Cut files I have on MY Website if you like this and would like to have it.......I used some K&C Christmas paper for this ATC ......I designed and created an ATC pattern in Inkscape and cut with SCAL2.....as well as the snowflake.....I then coated the snowflake in Glossy Accents by Ranger then coated with MS Garnet Glitter....I LOVE the Sparkle.....I used a Green Rhinestone in the center of the snowflake....the tree is an UM rubber stamp I stamped with my Versamark Inkpad then covered with Tinsel Embossing powder and embossed with my heat gun...the phrase I just stamped with Stazon Black ink....again with an UM stamp.....Added some little dots as accent and burnished the edges with Brick Red Tim Holtz Distress Inkpad....

This Next one is a card/envie set also for a swap in my ARTHaven Creations & Friendships Group.....the theme for this one was "It's Beginning to look alot like Christmas"........Again snowflakes remind me of Christmas.....I also used some more of My SNOWFLAKE cut files and made a shadow layer of them in Inkscape by duplicating them then doing Dynamic Offset.........I then took the shadow layer and the snowflakes and ran them through my Xyron to put adhesive on the top of them then I coated with glitter....clear on the bottom and a green MS glitter on the top........LOVE the bling!!! ;)  I created the Bracket cut and did a shadow layer of it as well...and used some more of my K&C Christmas paper....The two boys on the sleigh just happened to be the image already on the paper so I used it to my advantage when I had the Cricut cut the shape out...After it was cut I ran it through my Cuttlebug with a snowflake embossing folder then hit the high spots with my Versamark pad and then used a paint brush and put a layer of Pearl Ex on the raised spots...the layer really does glissen now.....Kinda hard to see in the photos.....I used another snowflake embossing sleeve I have on the bottom layer and then used two different Tim Holtz Distress Inkpads to color the decorative raised spots and the edges of the piece......Layered everything together then used a pretty red ribbon along with some teal colored dots......then  cut an envie with some decorative scrapbook paper to compliment the card!!!!!!

Now...this next one was super super fun!!! It again, is for a swap in My ARTHavenCreations & Friendships group.....We are making Row Houses.....this time we're working on a "Shop".....this is my version of the "Shop".....I had alot of fun with this....I created the shop pattern along with windows doors, steps awning in Inkscape and cut with my Cricut....I also printed the Shop name in Inkscape and then cut it out with SCAL......I used several different embossing folders in the creation of this house as well as Tim Holtz Distress Inkpads in Walnut Stain and Brick Red......I also used acetate to layer behind the window and door frames to make it look more like a pane of glass...I also found an image of the inside of a Christmas shop to use as my inside of my Store.........I'm VERY happy with the way this turned out......I have this file if anyone is interested in it you may email me and let me know........

Now....just one more...hope you're not getting tired yet....LOL....I worked on one more swap.....again this is for My ARTHavenCreations & Friendships group....and this is a Tag Swap the theme being "Colors of Christmas".....I wanted to do something a bit different....so I again created my own tag shape with a background shadow layer....I also then created a Santa Head........I'm very proud of my Santa....as you can see looking at the images I did alot more work on the Santa after I cut him out....including using some of my "Color Fluff Stuff" on the pom pom on his hat and his brim on the hat......on the red part of the hat I used some Distress Stickles.....on his mustache and beard I took a q-tip and pulled the cotton of it and shredded it some....Used some Diamond Glaze and coated the areas I wanted to put the cotton and adhered it......I made his cheeks blush by using a q-tip and one of my Tim Holtz Disress Inkpads.....I "think" it was Tattered Rose.....Then I remembered I had some eyeballs so I pulled them out and used them..they were the perfect size.......then I used a scrap piece of red ribbon and used my Stazon Black inkpad and some of my UM rubber stamps and stamped the ribbon with the word Noel and the swirlies.....love how it turned out....I also used some of my colored glitter glue dots I make last weeknd.....I also ran the first layer of the card thorough my Cuttlebug with an embossing sleeve and then hit the high spots with the Brick Red Tim Holtz Distress Inkpad...as well as burnished the edges of both layers with the same color.......put an Eyelet in and some pretty ribbon and Whola.....

Now....If anyone is interested I'm attaching images of the two files I created on making this Tag.....If you would like the files just click the images below and they will take you to the page on My Website where you can download them for free in the svg format......they are available in the other formats for a small fee......

I am OFFICIALLY Pooped!!!! ROFL....Need to go back to work tomorrow to recouperate!!! ;)  But I sure did have ALOT of fun!!!!!!  Hoping I can be just as productive through the week....I would LOVE to hear what you think????

Altered Box

Saturday, November 7, 2009
Good Evening Everyone and Happy Saturday to you all!!!!  I've deliberately made myself stay away from my inbox for a while today to complete a large project I was working on.....My oldest son's girlfriend has an adorable 7 year old little girl........and she wanted me to make her a Birthday card for her......but I decided since her birthday had already passed and I don't think it would have meant as much... I thought I would make her something a bit more special in hope perhaps she would cherish it more!!!!

Before I share my creation with you, I will say I am VERY proud of the way this turned out!!!!!!  I will show you first an image of what I started with....so you can get the idea of how much work I've done to bring it to completed stage.......

Not only did I do the Altered Box I also created from scratch the ART Journal......I used my Bind-it-All for the first time and must say I LOVE this tool!!!  I had a book binding system previously by GBC Comb Bind C55 and it was ok...but the Bind-it-All....is 1000% better.......Ok...guess I've stalled enough......

To start with I removed the inside inserts from the box....then I removed the stickers from the outside.....I then covered the inside and outside of the box with white Gesso.....2 coats...allowed to dry thoroughly.......Then I used some of my Pittsburgh Paints sample containers I had bought from the Hardware store a couple months back....used the remainder of one of the containers putting 2 coats on the box...it was the burgandy color I had......once that dried throughly I used my Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint in Vintage Photo...however once I touched up the 2nd time it looked too splotchy so I then decided to put another layer of crackle paint.....this time I decided on the Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Pain in Peeled Paint....I REALLY like how this turned out!!!!  On the hinges and closure I painted them black then went over with some Pewer Paint to give it a rustic look.......

For the feet I used some wooden balls I had snagged a bag of at the Good Will one day.....PERFECT to use as feet on items!!!!  I then glued a band of a wide lace....then some beaded fringe and topped with some twisted off white and gold trim.......I like the look it gives.....Ooooppps forgot...BEFORE I glued all the lace and trim on I took my Tim Holtz Distress Walnut Stain Ink pad and burnished the edges of the top to give a withered look....as well as took my Stazon Brown Inkpad and stamped....using my Rock-A-Blocks some flourishes on the top portion of the box........then I put on the lace and fringe and trim......On the top of the box I took some K&C Decorative paper and cut to the size I wanted....left a top portion of the box with the painted finished with the stamping on it.....I ran the decorative paper through my Cuttlebug using one of my decorative embossing sleeves...then hit the high spots with my Tim Holtz Distress Walnut Stain Inkpad......(I also did this same technique to the ARTJournal)....I also used some of my homemade Skittles!!!!

I then glued that to the top of the box...and then used some of my homemade sticky dots and adhered a strip of fringe fiber along the edge of the paper.......For the Fairy Graphic I found an image on the internet I liked...printed it out the size I wanted with my Color Laser Printer...(printing it 2xs) one copy I cut the wings out......one copy I cut the fairy out ....that way I'm able to give the fairy more of a dimensional look......I then coated the wings, the head and dress with glossy accents by Ranger and then covered with Crystal Fine MS Glitter.....LOVE the bling it gives........I then used some Rhinestones on the fairy........I adhered the wings and fairy at different levels to give it the look as if the wings are fluttering....(I did these same steps for the fairy on the journal as well.......)

I then took some of my favorite decorative wired ribbon and created a pretty bow and glued to the top .......(I also did the same on the ART Journal)...........

So....that's pretty much all my steps....there were alot but I am SO THRILLED with the way it has turned out and cannot wait to see Brianna's face when she receives it!!!!

Ok.....Now I'm off to read lots of emails to get caught back up then I plan on playing with paper!!!!!  I, as always, want to THANK YOU  for stopping by to visit with me!!!!  I do hope you will come but again and I pray you all have a very blessed evening and Sunday!!  Until next time.....

Get Well Card...

Sunday, November 1, 2009
Ok.....I had one more card I wanted to create tonight for another very dear cyber friend, Carole Genesi... who has recently under went a pretty major surgery and came through!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!  She's a VERY sweet lady and I thought perhaps a card might bring a smile to her face!!!!!  Thought I would share it with you.......I used some flowers I had created earlier today in the other card I created...I thought the colors still accented the colors from this card rather nicely..........

I hope you like it....would love to hear your comments........Ok, guess it's about time for me to go night night...I can't believe the weekend is coming to a close already.....I have had fun playing in my ARTHaven this weekend!!!!  It's been so much fun for me and I feel like I've gotten somethings accomplished....I hope you've enjoyed what I've made!!!!

As always, I want to THANK YOU so much for coming by to visit with me...I pray you all have a VERY blessed week!!!  Please come by again...until then...

A Couple more Techniques.....

Good Afternoon Everyone.....I hope you are all having a wonderful day!!!!  I've made myself stay away from the computer this morning to get some things accomplished in my ARTHaven!!!!  But now I get to share with you!!!!!  I have a very dear cyber friend who lost her husband this week and my heart is ABSOLUTELY breaking for her!!!!!  So I decided I wanted to create a card for her to get in the mail tomorrow........I'm going to show you the card now....but I hope you will read on through the remainder of my post because I'm showing you some techniques of items I created to incorporate into the card...as well as I designed and created a new cut file and used one of my flower cut files I designed and created several months back.......

Of course, if you're interested you may get both of these files which will be shared below by clicking on the image of them.....it will take you to the page on MY Website where you can get them!!!  Ok, so here we go......

On this card I incorporated some of the "color dots" I created last night from glue sticks!!!!  Yep that's right....we've been discussing that some on one of my groups and I have used the technique before in some of the scrapbook pages I did several months back but I decided to make some more....this time I used colored glue sticks..........All you need to do is let your glue gun get very hot.......put your glue stick in and start making "droplets" of glue......don't worry about the string......it will blend in as it cools....I just make a droplet and swirl the glue gun to break the string.......continue on through the glue stick.....then I continue to add glue sticks even different colors.......they come out SO cool!!! I'm showing you them below!!!

Aren't they YUMMY!!!!  And easy peasy to make....if you have the Ranger Craft Mat it makes it even easier!!!!

Then I also used some of the "foam sheets" I had made........I'm showing you a step by step tutorial with photos below on how I created them............

Once dried I put one side on some freezer paper.....(the kind that has a slick surface) then turn the foam over and to the same technique on the other side....once that side is dry I also cover with a piece of freezer paper.....(again, on the slick side to the foam).....then you can either use your  Crop-a-Dial or a hole punch or a perforated blade.....I chose to use the perforated blade on mine...it was a GREAT tip from one of the ladies on the SCALhints yahoo group I own.......I used these foam square to adhere the flowers above to my card front.........And I also used the "sticky dots" that I did the tutorial on the other day to stick my "color dots" to my flowers.....It's SUCH an awesome feeling to know I can create scrap supplies at a very minimal cost to use in my creations!!!!!  LOVE IT!!!!

Here's the corner file I made.....I made this so that you can theoretically re-use a hand made card if you choose by simply removing the sentiment inner paper and replacing it with a new piece of paper with the new sentiment on it.......Pretty clever huh!!!!!!  That way all your wonderful LOVE and PASSION that goes into your ART isn't done once the envelope is opened!!!

And here's the flower file I designed and created months ago.......I love these flower files becuase I can resize them to be anysize I need and cane use them over and over and over........

So, now you can see how completely personalized the card I showed you above is....it is truly one of a kind....I'm very happy with the way it turned out and pray the recipient knows I truly did put alot of love and prayers into this card!!!!!  Don't forget if you would like to have the corner file or flower file you can click the images and they will take you to the pages on my website where you may download the svg file for free...the other formats are available for a small fee.....

I THANK YOU as always for coming by to visit with me!!!!  Totally makes my day!!!  I hope you enjoyed the card and the techniques...I would love to hear your thoughts!! I pray you all have a very blessed afternoon....Please come by again!!! Until next time....

Happy Hump Day....

Wednesday, October 28, 2009
Hey Everyone......I hope you're all enjoyed your HUMP Day!!!  Today is my 3 year Wedding Anniversary!! Wahooooooo, my sweetie was the first one to wish each other a Happy Anniversary...But I spent my day in the doctor's office with my baby boy (15 yr old baby boy....LOL) to find out he has an upper respiratory infection.....BUT, he gets to go back to school tomorrow!! Yippie!!!  But I did get to work on another swap I'm signed up for with a dear friend name Kanan who just moved back to India (her native country) a few months back and is finally getting settled and ready to swap again!! She is an AMAZING artist!!! And a wonderful cyber friend!!!

The type of swap was a Fall Tag Swap......I wanted to do something depicting our country's celebration of Thanksgiving......so here's what I created.......

I created a new cut file Card Tag that I used for this......I'm attaching an image of the cut file and if you would like to have this you can click the image below and it will take you to the page on my website where you can download it........I had alot of fun making this and look forward for Kanan to receive this!!!!!

NOTE:  For those that choose to download this file.....when you click on the "here" on my website it will ACTUALLY OPEN UP THE SVG file as I host my own files on my Website through my own server....so when you "think" it's opening a jpeg it's the ACTUAL SVG file itself....all you need to do is right click on the image and select "SAVE PAGE AS" if you're using Firefox.....I believe IE automatically gives you the prompt to save....I hope this helps those that are seeing what they think is the jpeg.......

Ok, time for me to go nite nite!!! I pray you all have a VERY VERY blessed Thursday!!!  I do hope you will come back by again.....I love hearing from you....until then....
